The following files are the presentation of Dr. Helena Agustien, a well-known lecturer of Universitas Negeri Semarang, who is one of the “Pioneer“ of the implementation of Genre-based approach in English learning in Indonesia. I collected the files when I followed her lecture at LPMP Jawa Tengah. I want to share all the files as my personal tribute to her. Enjoy!!
Semoga bermanfaat.
These files are free to share because I had the files from the ToT Guru Pemandu at LPMP Semarang. I think that by presenting the files on the blog is one of the way to desseminate the materials. Enjoy reading
Here are some enlightening files of English text types and how to teach them at the classroom. I collected the files mostly by bartering with some fellow teachers who were attending the ToT of Guru Pemandu MGMP at LPMP Semarang and also, of course, from the Widyaiswara who handled the course.
I have downloaded some valuable files from The Board of Studies of New South Wales Australia. The files are documents of how teachers apply the Genre-based approach in English learning in the country. The files give clear understanding of the concept of the approach, the clear teaching steps and a bulk of examples the text-types.
Although the materials provided in the files are for Elementary School (Grade 1 to 6), I personally think that the files are needed to read by the high school teachers and students, to give a broaden view of the English text types.
I got a good book, Totto-Chan. It tells a story of a student when she was studying at Tomoe Gaikuen. It tells the way the headmaster managed the school and the teaching methods used there. This book gives enlightenment on how we have to behave to our students and on how we should carry out our learning process. “Touching student’s heart” is the key of a successful learning. That what I can digest from what Mr. Kobahayasi-the headmaster- did in his school.
Thanks Aa Tutut Kumoro Wibowo, M.Pd -SMA MTA Surakarta- who gave me the file of the book. Thanks for your kindness Bro…
